Who I Am
Hello and welcome. I am a registered psychotherapeutic counsellor and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I qualified as an integrative therapist, however I work leaning more towards humanistic counselling.
My interest in working with a different medium led me to train in Person Centred Art Therapy Skills which enables me to also work creatively using person centred art counselling if requested. I believe that each person has the ability to reach their potential when seeking and finding their inner resources and strengths, enabling access to a brighter life.

My Experience

I have worked for a large charitable organisation offering counselling for substance misuse and various other issues including anger, anxiety, abuse, depression, low –self esteem and confidence. Working in the field of addiction for over five years, I have gained a great deal of experience in supporting people through their journey to recovery. I have also worked for the NHS Psychological Services for over three years as a bereavement counsellor, helping people through their trauma in loss and grief.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of working successfully with a wide range of adults of different ages and backgrounds.

Previous Experience

Before I entered the path of counselling and psychotherapy, I worked for the National Health Service and enjoyed my contact with patients for many years which took my interest towards the counselling environment. I also acquired knowledge and experience working as a volunteer offering support to individuals and members of their family with addiction issues. I enjoyed working in this field very much, which gave me affirmation to pursue my training in counselling and psychotherapy further.
I can honestly say that I find working in a supporting and helping role rewarding and I enjoy promoting the health and wellbeing of others. At times it can be challenging, however to be alongside someone through the ups and downs of their therapeutic process, to witness change and empowerment, is something to behold.
